Good News and Bad News for our Service Dog Program!
The BAD NEWS is that we did not get the grant which we applied for through the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust Organization. Although our National organization qualified on all levels, they did not give us any reason, just a NO! Never even looked at the program's videos nor talked to the veterans that have received their dogs and know how good the program is working for them and how they are doing. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and went into a PTSD depression! HOWEVER.....that didn't last long, thanks to my friend that lives in me.
And now, The GOOD NEWs is that after much prayer, I received my message from above, Romans 8:31" What shall we say to these things, if God is for us, who can be against us?" and so He's shown us a new way to continue helping our service men that need a greyhound Service Dog.
Starting today, we will train greyhound therapy or service dogs for their owners. A veteran can pick out his greyhound and we'll train it for him. Once the dog has graduated from Basic training, they will be working together on advanced training in the services the owner requires. to complete his Service Dog certification.
Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to continuing this valuable program for those men and women that gave so much for us.

BLACK JACK BLAST - SOX
_Sox face was stepped on when he
was in the whelping pen as a baby and now he lives with the misshapen side of
his face. Some people might call him
ugly. To himself, he’s beautiful, and
that beauty shines out of his little soul.
When he first came in the prison, the tears rolled down the girl’s cheeks when they saw his poor little face. He just grinned and licked them all over. To him, this was a new world to love and explore. Everyone loves Sox and he loves everyone, abundantly. He gets along with everyone, animal or human and is adored by staff and inmates. Sox is very playful, friendly, outgoing, has no sleep startle, or separation anxiety. He is so much fun and has a very big heart. Since he’s learned to sit, he likes it so much, he just keeps doing it. Every time you stop, he sits. Sox is looking for a very special Veteran that will love him for the man he is. He has so much love to give that special Veteran. If you’re that person, please call me at 352-212-5878. |
Regal Queenie - Nickel
_ This beautiful girl is so outgoing to everyone with no aggression whatsoever. She’s playful, friendly, with no sleep startle or anxiety and is exceptionally loveable.
Her tail is constantly wagging. Three reasons she is so great is, 1. HER ATTITUDE, 2. Her WILLINGNESS to learn her commands, 3. Her submissiveness in working with everyone. What a great dog and a way to start this program. She is the happiest dog at all times. She puts a smile on for everyone and will lean against you as long as you’ll pet her. This dog is PERFECT! She knows all of her commands, goes up and down the stairs and wags her tail all the time. What a great addition to a home she will make. Nickel is now in training for her Public/Access testing and looking for her new best friend to help heal his spirits and give him back the life he had before he went into service for his country. |
